Venus Sextile Jupiter: Back Down Memory Lane

🎧 Some things hit different when you hear them. Press play and let this one ride with you.
The lesser benefic and the greater benefic are sextile.
Venus and Jupiter.
Get your mind out the gutter. I didn't say that word.
Venus is moving backward through her own sign and her own bounds, and she has a rendezvous with Jupiter in Leo at 24 degrees. Two benefics. Coffee, not a crisis.
What Is a Sextile?
A sextile is when two planets are 60 degrees apart, in elements that support each other. This time it's air and fire. Air is the thoughts. Fire is your will to move.
Sextiles are opportunities that knock on the door.
So will you answer the knock? Will you walk through the door? Will you invite the guest in, or will you reject the stranger? The strange unknown, knocking at the door.
That's the thing about a sextile. It doesn't kick the door in. It knocks. And if you don't get up, it keeps walking.
So what's knocking? Venus is love, pleasure, beauty, money, and what you value. Jupiter is faith, growth, generosity, wisdom, and good fortune. Put them in a sextile and you get generosity in relationships. Easy reconciliations. Invitations. Creative joy. Money that flows a little easier, and spends a little easier too.
And it's air feeding fire, and the fire's running the show. Venus brings the breath. Jupiter decides how big the flame gets. A conversation sparks a move. A text turns into plans. An idea gets legs.
Somebody says, "You still doing that thing you used to do?"
And you say, "No. I haven't done that in years."
Well, why not?
That's the knock. Not a marching band. Not a certificate from the universe. Maybe just an ordinary conversation that stays with you after the other person goes home.
And when the two benefics get together like this, these can be lucky times. I'm not saying you're going to hit the lottery. But you definitely can't hit it if you don't buy a ticket.
The window is open until November 11th.
Who's at the Table
Venus is retrograde in Libra, in her own sign and her own bounds. She's home. She knows the house. She knows which drawer she left it in.
So what is she looking for?
An old lover? Maybe. But don't make every return about somebody coming back to get you.
Maybe she's looking for your taste. Your pleasure. The part of you that knew what you liked before you learned to like whatever kept everybody comfortable.
Venus is home, but she's retracing her steps. She has authority here. That doesn't mean every answer is settled. It means she gets to reconsider the agreement. Old friends. Old flames. Old agreements. Old pleasures she stopped making time for.
And being home means she gets to set the terms. "Yes, I valued that once. Do I still? And does it belong in my life the same way?" The past can make an offer. Venus doesn't have to accept.
Venus in Libra knows how to make room for another person. But there's a difference between making room for somebody and giving them the whole house.
And a retrograde review doesn't have to be a crime-scene investigation. Everything you find back there isn't evidence against you. Some of it is treasure.
Jupiter is in Leo at 24, the Sun's sign. Jupiter is comfortable in fire. In Leo he's generous, warm, big-hearted. He expands the heart, play, pride, creativity, children, and the joy of being seen. Leo is the sign of the inner child. That matters today.
Venus asks, "Does this still have value?" Jupiter says, "Have you forgotten what you can do with it?"
And he's sitting in Mars's decan and Mars's bounds. So this isn't lazy luck. Jupiter on Mars's ground grows through courage. The blessing comes to the one who moves.
Your Circle and Your Old Block
Look at how they see each other.
From Venus in Libra, Jupiter in Leo is sitting in her eleventh place. Friends, allies, benefactors, good spirit, the hopes you hold. One of the most supportive places there is.
From Jupiter in Leo, Venus in Libra is in his third place. Messages, siblings, neighbors, the people from your old block.
So the support comes through your circle, and the message comes from close to home.
And Jupiter has the upper hand. Leo comes before Libra, so Jupiter is in the superior position in this sextile. The greater benefic is setting the tone. Venus brings the review, but Jupiter decides how big it gets. Whatever she finds back there, he's the one who can grow it.
Sometimes the opportunity doesn't come from a stranger. It comes from somebody who already knows you. An old friend. A sibling. Somebody from the neighborhood. And the message they bring isn't about who you should become. It's a reminder of what's always been in you.
That's the Six of Cups before the Sun even gets there.
Mars Pulls Up a Chair
The same Mars that's been racing through Leo will catch that same Jupiter right there in his own bounds. Mars is going to join the party. He arrives just before Venus breaks away from the engagement.
And remember, this is the same Mars whose sign Venus began her retrograde journey in. She started walking backward in Scorpio, in Mars's house. Now Mars is pulling up a chair at her coffee date.
So what has she learned since she left his house? Does she still want the same thing? Does she want it on different terms?
Because when Mars arrives, the question isn't just whether you'll act. It's whether you'll act differently, or go back to fighting the same fight.
Venus says, "I remember wanting this."
Jupiter says, "There may still be something here."
Mars says, "Then what are we doing about it?"
Make the call. Pick up the instrument. Get the materials out. Put your name forward. You don't have to announce a whole new life. Start by doing the thing for an hour.
But watch Mars in Leo. There's courage here. There's also pride. Are you reaching out because you want connection, or because you need to know you can still get a response? There's a difference between wanting to be seen and needing to win.
Let Mars give the opportunity movement. Don't let him turn it into a contest.
The Sun Turns the Page: Five of Cups to Six of Cups
Remember the setup. Jupiter and Mars are in the Sun's sign. The Sun is in Mars's sign. Mutual reception. The king and the general are holding each other's keys.
The Sun has been walking through the Five of Cups, focused on what spilled.
Now he enters the Six of Cups, right while Venus and Jupiter have their hookup.
And this is the Sun's own decan. The king finally gets a room of his own in Scorpio. A little dignity after a week of mourning.
And when he walks into that room at 10 Scorpio, he's standing in Venus's bounds. So the same Venus who's out reviewing the past is the one shaping what the Sun remembers when he gets there. The benefic picks the memories. Not just what hurt. What nourished you. What deserves to be remembered too.
We left the Sun looking at the two cups. So why was it so hard for him to tear himself away from the spill and focus on what was still standing?
Because of the emotional past that's still affecting him in the present.
Maybe looking away feels like saying it didn't matter. Like enjoying what's left would somehow betray what was lost.
But you can grieve what happened without making grief the only thing you're allowed to feel.
And this isn't the past of last week. Not last month. Not even last year.
The Six of Cups goes further back. It's connected to the place you grew up.
You don't have to deny what spilled to appreciate what remains. The Five of Cups showed us the disappointment. The Six of Cups reminds us that disappointment wasn't the only thing that happened.
The Positive Side of the Past
Now before you run to the negative side, hear this.
This connection is the positive side. The part you may not have been able to see because you were so focused on what's been.
Two benefics are having coffee. And one of them is retrograde, reviewing what she can dig up from the past that still has value in the present.
Maybe you need a reminder of who you are.
Maybe you bump into that ghost from the past. That person who says, "Hey, do you remember when?"
And you're like, actually, no. I forgot all about that.
"Do you remember when you used to sing?" "Do you remember how you were always making something?"
And you think, I did that?
Yes. You did.
They remember something about you that disappointment hasn't erased. Something you stopped counting because you were so busy counting what went wrong.
Memory doesn't just keep events. It keeps feelings. You can forget the conversation and still remember the encouragement. You can forget the day and still remember that, for a minute, you felt like anything was possible.
So what if the thing you're looking for isn't something you need to find? What if it's something you need to remember?
That doesn't mean your childhood was perfect. It doesn't mean you have to call everybody, forgive everything, or go back to a place that hurt you.
It means the hurt doesn't get exclusive ownership of your history.
You can remember the sweetness without denying what was bitter. You can miss somebody without inviting them back. They delivered the message. That doesn't mean they need a key.
The number six is the nurturer in numerology. Same as the card. Six takes care. Six feeds. Six reminds you where you came from so you remember you were always worth looking after. And 666? I know. Soon as you hear it, you think the devil. Evil. Horror movies. It is Halloween season. But in fact, it's the code of man. The code of I Am himself. Carbon, the building block of every living thing, carries six protons, six neutrons, and six electrons. Six is built into you.
Minnie Riperton sang about walking back down memory lane. Today, Venus is walking down it with you.
But Don't Move In
Here's the other side of the question.
Are you so clingy to the past that you can't see the future?
There's a difference between visiting memory lane and moving into it. Venus is retrograde, so she's allowed to look back. But she's looking back for something she can use now. She's not looking back so she can stay there.
The past isn't always asking you to return. Sometimes it's reminding you what you left behind.
And it can inspire you. It just can't do tomorrow's work for you.
Pick up the reminder. Leave the rest.
Joy, Support, and the Fine Print
When Venus and Jupiter hook up, happy feelings and joy for life can be renewed.
This is a good window to find positive support in your relationships. The friend who's always been there. The person who remembers something good you forgot. The connection that makes room for who you are now, not just who you used to be.
Sometimes you've been away from your own happiness so long that happiness looks like a stranger.
Receive it. Just watch the fine print. Two benefics together can get a little too comfortable.
Overindulgence. Too much food, too much spending, saying yes because you don't want to interrupt the sweetness. Mistaking a lovely afternoon for a promise nobody actually made.
Laziness and passivity. Enjoying talking about what you're going to do so much that you never do it.
Jupiter expands. Venus enjoys. Somebody still has to stand up and turn the knob.
Will You Answer the Knock?
Last week the Sun was staring at the spill. This week he turns the page, and the past knocks with something good in its hand.
The window's open until November 11th. Mars is on his way to the party.
So ask yourself:
Who from my past reminds me who I really am?
What good thing from where I grew up have I forgotten?
Am I visiting memory lane, or living there?
What opportunity is knocking that I keep pretending I didn't hear?
Where am I getting too comfortable to move?
Answer the knock. See who's there.
You don't have to invite every visitor in. But don't reject a good reminder just because it came wearing an old face.
And maybe the part of yourself you've only been talking to in the language of criticism is waiting too. Try asking it something different. "You still interested? You want to try again? We don't have to do it the way we did before."
This time, you're the one knocking.
Know thyself. Balance your energy.
