Last night, I went to bed focusing on the Eight of Cups rather than the Two Cups spilled.
For me, the two spilled cups represent the audience size I would like to reach and where I would like my podcast to be.
But the eight standing cups represent something I sometimes overlook: the infrastructure I've already built.
The website. The podcast. The hundreds of blogs I've written. The episodes, the archive, the content, and the body of work I've put together over time.
It's easy to focus on the two cups that aren't standing and lose sight of the eight that are.
I don't want to become so focused on where I want to go that I forget to recognize how far I've already come and what I've already created.
The audience I want to reach is still a goal. But the foundation I've built is already an accomplishment.
Last night, I decided to give the eight cups more attention than the two that spilled.
