The Venus-Pluto Connection: Fate, Fire, and Feelings

I hate how much I love you. When Venus and Pluto align, intensity in relationships takes center stage. Today, Venus sextiles Pluto, and while intense relationships might not sound entirely positive, the sextile aspect carries Venus's energy, which can soften the edges. Even if things don’t feel positive in the moment, time will reveal the bigger picture.
Venus is currently at 3 degrees Aries retrograde, while Pluto sits at 3 degrees Aquarius. Aries, a fire sign, and Aquarius, an air sign, share a supportive relationship—much like water and earth signs do. This harmonious connection is called a sextile aspect, which aligns with Venus’s energy. Venus, one of the two benefic planets (the other being Jupiter), makes this aspect more positive compared to challenging ones like squares or oppositions.
The Venus-Pluto sextile raises the question: Are you independent in love, or codependent? Venus governs how we relate to others, our relationships, resources, women, artists, loved ones, and money. We got a taste of this energy back on February 7th and 8th, when Venus first entered Aries and sextiled Pluto at 2 degrees. Now, as Venus retrogrades, it’s meeting Pluto for the second of three times, with the final encounter happening on May 6th. Honestly, this is a time for reevaluating what we love, how we love, what we attract, and what we value. It’s a period of transformation, urging us to find new ways to approach relationships and navigate emotional pain.
Highly charged emotions tied to loved ones may surface now. How do your emotions impact your relationships—positively or negatively? Are you craving a sense of belonging? With Venus retrograde, past people, places, or situations might resurface. Issues like jealousy, betrayal, or past trauma could revisit you. Have you found a way to transform that dark emotional pain into healing light?
The challenging influence of Aries on Venus makes me wonder: Can you empathize with others? Have you sought love outside yourself? Have you made impulsive decisions in love? Aries is a fiery, impulsive sign that sometimes struggles to sustain its energy. Can you maintain your love, or does it fizzle out like a dud firecracker?
